Presiding over the celebration service were:

Rev. Marlin Fenn - District Superintendent
Rev. Danny Barrett (2016-Present),
Rev. Deb Bryant retired pastor from Point, Tx,
Rev. Mike Mayhugh (1993-1996),
Rev. David Diller (1996-2005),
Rev. Jack McMahon (2006-2008),
Rev. Doc Jones (1963-1965) &Rev. Bill Jobe (1980-1981) planned on attending but could not make it that day.

The wives received corsages, Mary Lou Jones, Kay Lynn Fenn, Vera Barrett, Lisa Mayhugh, Helen Diller, and Bonita Calhoun wife of Rev. Calhoun (1981-1984).

Other notable church members were 98 year old Jewell Cooper, Risa Beckham (1960s) from Mineola, Tx and Judith Johnson from Arlington, VA. We had 200 people in attendance!

We had beautiful fresh altar flowers and special worship banners. A new sound system and monitors were installed just days before.

The celebration started with the performance of Wiley College a Cappella choir, 54 person choir under the direction of Stephen Hayes. Contemporary music led by Lisa Mayhugh.

Service was led by Bishop Scott Jones, with holy communion. We also celebrated the baptism of Kye Joseph Harvey Franklin, son of Jenkins Franklin and Cassie Harris.

Following the service we had 2 Historical Marker dedications, one from the State of Texas and one from United Methodist Church.

After the dedications we enjoyed a brisket luncheon at Emory City Centre. The women made the potato salad, beans, banana pudding and peach cobbler. Tables were decorated with old Bibles and oil lamps. Family and church histories and photos were on display. At the end of the luncheon the special quilt was given a new home.

The Stitch and Learn Quilters designed, quilted and donated a king size quilt for our church.  They included on the backside a photo of the old church, the existing church and the 150th logo.  Many hours and love went into the quilt.

It was a great testimony of God’s love for us. Please go to the Photo Gallery to view the photos!
